| RTS-6™ and RTS-6PR™ |
| Integral joint tubing connector |
| |
| 300 torque
shoulder and metal seal |
 |
| This
external torque shoulder ensures the pin and box are exactly positioned
and allows the application of more-than-adequate torque to prevent
downhole backoff. The 300 shoulder surface also creates a pressure
seal capable of resisting the API internal pressure rating of the
pipe. |
| |
| Center
– step torque shoulder |
| This
shoulder performs as an additional torque shoulder, storing a small
amount of torque and helping to prevent overmakeup.
|
| |
| Two-step thread
design |
| This nontapered, noninterference
thread form minimizes galling and thread-generated stresses. |
| |
| 140 internal
metal seal |
| This seal element is created
by radial interference and is capable of resisting the API internal
pressure rating of the pipe. The 140 angle minimizes rubbing between
the elements, which minimizes the possibility of galling. |
| |
| Machined upset
OD and ID |
| Upset OD and ID are machined
to closely toleranced dimensions to guarantee clearances and smooth
flow through the bore. |
| |
| Optional Teflon® barrier for
coating |
| The RTS-6PR is an optional feature
that incorporates a groove machined just below the box internal 140
seal element, which receives a Teflon barrier ring. This feature allows
pipe intended to be internally coated to be holiday-free across the
connector interface. |
